The Maui Arts and Cultural Center Presents: Face of America:
          Volcanoes National Park Hawaii

The Maui Arts and Cultural Center presents an unforgettable artistic journey, following the epic myths of Pele, powerfully portrayed in the language of hula by Halau O Kekuhi under the direction of esteemed kumu hula and National Heritage Fellowship award recipients Pualani Kanaka ole Kanahele and Nalani Kanaka ole. The WolfTrap Foundation for the Performing Arts in Virginia and MACC commissioned this new work, which also features the contemporary and traditional Hawaiian music and dance of Grammy award-nominee Kealii Reichel with his halau Ke alaokamaile, and slack key guitar master Ledward Ka apana, with spectacular images filmed at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Pu uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park, and Haleakala National Park. An absolutely stunning production! Show begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Castle Theater, Saturday March 3, 2007. Tickets are $10, $30, and $40. This event is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, Hawaii State Foundation for Culture & the Arts, County of Maui, the Wolftrap Foundation, KPOA and KNUI Radio.
