Enjoy the best in Hawaiian and cosmopolitan culinary luau delicacies flavored with the finest cultural entertainment in Hawaii, provided by world renowned producers of Hawaiian and Polynesian entertainment, Tihati Productions. The luau is presented in beautiful Poipu on the grounds of the picturesque paradise of the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa. The evening begins with a shell lei greeting and island arts and crafts before unveiling the featured dish, Kalua Pig. The delicious smoked pork is removed from an authentic Imu (underground oven) during a traditional Imu Ceremony and is just part of the many Hawaiian specialties you’ll enjoy at the all-you-can-eat Polynesian buffet, and you can wash it all down with a never ending supply of Mai Tai's or punch from the bar. In ancient Polynesia, the voyagers of the Pacific ventured across the Pacific Ocean in double hull canoes seeking new land...Havaiki Nui, the great land of promise. Hence, these people of the sea migrated and settle throughout the Pacific establishing what we know today Polynesia - Tihati, Samoa, Hawaii and the many people of the Pacific. Join Tihati Productions for “Tihati’s Havaiki Nui” as they engage you in the special connection between Kauai and the South Pacific as Hawaiian song and dance take you on a voyage of discovery from Tahiti to Hawaii. Experience the conch shells and pulsing drums of the South Pacific as Tahitian dancers in traditional Ote’a costumes move to the rhythms of the Toere. You’ll be entertained by hulas of yesterday and today, the exciting “Nifaoti” or fire dance of Samoa, and magical moments that only the “Hawaiian Wedding Song” can bring. Don’t be surprised if you’re invited on stage to learn the hula!
