The Garden Isle's only oceanfront luau is at the premiere property on Poipu Beach, the Sheraton Kauai Resort. Just footsteps from the crescent shaped white sandy beach, the Surf to Sunset Luau is an ideal event for the entire family. Featuring award winning entertainment, an extensive menu for all tastes, and numerous cultural facets.

The elaborate banquet features both traditional Hawaiian delicacies, such as fresh sweet pineapple, kalua pig, lomi salmon, pipikaula, poke and poi, as well as dishes that are inspired by the numerous ethnic foods that are enjoyed by the people of modern Hawaii, such as Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino and Thai-inspired foods. The abundant spread is perfectly finished with desserts featuring tropical island flavors like guava chiffon pie, coconut coated haupia, pineapple upside down cake and chocolate macadamia nut cake.

Smith's Tropical Paradise
Daytime Garden Admission

This lush 30-acre botanical and cultural garden is one of Hawaii's leading natural attractions. Located in the fertile Wailua River Valley, only minutes from the main highway, but far removed from traffic noise. Welcome to Paradise! The park is located within the Wailua Marina State Park on Kauai's Coconut Coast. By day visitors stroll through over one mile of meandering pathways surrounded by tropical splendor or take a tram ride narrated by an interpretive guide. Open daily from 8:30am until 4:00pm.

The torches are lit, the night is filled with music, and family members gather to bring you a casual, relaxing and romantic dining experience that starts off with the Imu Ceremony - the unearthing of the traditional pig, cooked to perfection in an underground oven. Thirst-quenching tropical cocktails are served inside the luau hale.
The luau meal features traditional luau favorites, tropical fruit and a special Hawaiian dessert table. Hawaiian musicians serenade dinners during the luau meal. Young members of the family take the stage during the entertainment, and even invite guests up on stage for a hula lesson!

The Golden People of Hawaii festival of dances, an excellent evening of family entertainment. The colorful open-air performance showcases the lively ethnic groups that have come to call Hawaii home with authentic dances from Tahiti, Hawaii, China, Japan, the Philippines, New Zealand and Samoa.

Luau Kalamaku operates Tues & Fri. Check-in time is 5:00 pm (7:00 pm for show only). Hula dancers, fire poi ball twirlers, traditional fire knife dancing, lavish buffet of local delicacies and a vivid storyteller come together for this authentic experience. A state-of-the-art media system and an interactive stage design transports guests to ancient Polynesia during the time of their remarkable migration to the Islands. Guests find themselves in the heart of the story.

Luau packages include Hawaiian crafts & games, open bar, traditional Imu Ceremony, dinner, dessert, coffee, live music and traditional hula before the main show.

Luau plus Train also includes a railway ride through the 105-acre historic plantation, feeding the herd of wild pigs, goats & sheep, and viewing cattle, horses, clydesdales & donkeys.

A Plantation Owners Evening includes a lei greeting, champagne reception, four-course dinner at Gaylord’s Restaurant, shopping at the galleries and boutiques inside the plantation home, a Mai Tai or glass of wine from Mango Bar to watch the show and premium reserved seating.
